Applying hands-on massage to patient's feet and to a lesser extent their hands and ears.
Instructing the client in self-reflexology techniques to be practised at home.
Keeping detailed patient notes.
Setting out a plan of future treatment.
Advising patients to seek mainstream medical treatment where necessary.
Salary: $38,000
Education Most states require a license or certification for massage voluntary certification in reflexology is available. 500 hours of massage therapy education may be required for state licensure and by some employers. Communication and decision-making skills; physical stamina, strength and dexterity; empathy to provide a positive experience. Ability to maintain client confidentiality; able to secure general liability insurance; must maintain professional appearance and professional boundaries
