What Joseph Smith is trying to say is that lets make popular the things that are good and that sound good. To make things that are horrible and that sound horrible unpopular. That we should be on the path to greatness and honesty instead of a life of misery. That we should influence each other about the good things and make that popular instead of things that make us regret things.
